Save Air America Phoenix!

On March 1, 2006 our Air America Phoenix station was taken off the air by a Religious Broadcasting company. This was a “dark” day for progressive talk radio in America. You have flooded us with emails pleading to get Air America back on the radio and asking how you can help. We have heard your cries and we can get us back on the air by April 3, 2006 !

A deal has been negotiated with a local station and the final details are being ironed out! Our Freedom Express is running on schedule thanks to your generous support. But the battle is not yet over. We still need your strong support in the next few weeks to make our dream come true. It is very important to get as many people as possible involved at this critical juncture.

Mark Bergman Feb 18, 1958 - March 4, 2006

Mark was a good friend that I've known for more than 10 years. I met him at ASU and we had many good times down in the ceramic lab during our time in school and we remained friends beyond school. I am shocked and sad at his passing. I will miss him terribly. I have not yet reached anger at the manner of his passing, I am still trying to get my brain around realizing he was such a sad person to take his own life. He hid it well, he always seemed well adjusted enough and we had many good conversations about life and philosophy and art. He was always pleasant and had a great sense of humor. I'll never forget him.

The ceremony is Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 5:30 PM.

High Flight
Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings.
Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of; wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hovering there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air;
Up, up the long delirious burning blue
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace,
Where never lark nor even eagle flew;
And while, with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high, untrespassed sanctity of space
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.
